The camp was founded in 1969 with the vision of helping young
boys learn how to work, learn how to ride horses, and learn about
the Savior, Jesus Christ through Bible Studies. It started as
one two-week camp and progressed to six camps, filling the whole
summer. About 100 boys and girls, 13-16 years old, come from all
over the United States to attend the camps each year. The camps
are operated by faith with no charge to those attending. About
30 horses are maintained to provide for daily evening trail rides.
A unique feature of the camps is that everything is conducted
within the large Tewksbury home. About 30 eat at the tables every
day from June 15-August 15.
Encouraging and helping teenagers find spiritual enlightenment
has proved to be a very rewarding experience.
